How do I register?
You can register on Fantasy DJ, by using your Facebook account details, or by selecting the Sign Up option at fantasydj.com. For Signing In, you can also use your Facebook account details or choose the Sign In option at fantasydj.com
What is the Music Station?
It's a place where you can lose yourself in musical bliss, using the sound mixer, the effects pads and the keyboard. Let your imagination run wild by mixing different sounds with others to create musical compositions.
Remember, from the vast range of sounds available at fantasydj.com, each one has its own place on the music station. Loops can only be used on the sound mixer, effects on the effects pad and keyboard sounds on the keyboard.
What's the Sound Mixer?
The Sound mixer, is where the core music mixing goes on. You'll see that it contains 8 tracks, each used for looping sounds and featuring three simple controls, these being On/Off (Top orange button), Solo (Middle blue button) and Volume. By default all tracks are switched on.
How do I loop a sound?
It's really simple; just drag any sound from the loops menu onto any one of the 8 tracks on the sound mixer. Press the orange button of each track and wait for it to light up, after that press the big start button and that's it, you're looping.
How can I loop just one track in solo?
On each of the 8 tracks, there's a blue button, this is the Solo feature. Press it and it'll switch off all the other tracks that don't also have the blue solo button pressed.
The solo feature can be used to create breaks and lots of interesting sequences with just a few tracks being used on the Sound Mixer.
How can I turn off a sound?
Find the illuminated orange button on the track that you want turn off, press it and the sound will stop looping.
How does the keyboard work?
Go to the keyboards menu and drag any of the sounds in your library onto the keyboard. From here press on any of the keys, they'll sound in the note that you've pressed.
The keyboard will breathe melody into your musical compositions and allow expression that would be difficult to achieve through the sound mixer alone. Only one keyboard can be used per session.
The Effects Pad
This is used for playing random one-off sounds. Drag a sound from the effects menu onto any of the four grey square buttons. Once loaded you'll be able to use them anywhere throughout your music composition.
What is The Metronome and what is it for?
The Metronome is the grey button on the top right corner of the sound machine. When clicked once, the button will start flashing at the Mixing Console’s master BPM or tempo. To turn it off, the grey button needs to be clicked once.
How do The Turntables work?
This component is still under development. More information will be available as the launch date for this component is closer. Keep posted by following us on our Official Fan Page .
The store is of public access. It’s where all the sound samples offered to the users can be found, and where sound samples can be purchased.
Where can I find new sounds?
A broad variety of sounds can be found. Sounds are always available, and you can purchase as many of them as you want. The Store can be accessed by selecting it in the options menu, towards the top of the main fantasydj.com page.
Can I preview a sound before purchasing it?
Yes, all sounds can be previewed before being purchased. A sound preview will be in low quality format; once the sound is purchased, users will receive the sound in high quality format.
How do I purchase sound samples?
In Store, there are three Sound Categories, these being LOOPS, EFFECTS and KEYBOARDS.
Inside Sound Categories, different sound types and themes can be found. For example, if a user is looking for a Techno bass loop, they will have to select the LOOPS Category, then select the Electronic Bass Subcategory and finally purchase the desired Techno Bass loop.
All Sounds have prices, either in Credits or in Vibe Coins. These prices may vary depending on specific campaigns or contests we launch. To find out more on these events and get the best deals, follow us on our Official Fan Page.
Where can I find the sounds I have just purchased?
Once a sound has been purchased, it will be part of the user’s Private Sample Library.
What is Your Sound Library
This option is where all the sounds that you have obtained are stored. Your sound library is also listed and categorized within the workstation drop down menus. Nobody else can see your sound library.
The Music Station menus
There are four menus. The first three drop down menus are for selecting your loops, effects and keyboard. The last to the right of the screen is for managing your mixes.
The drop down menus display the sounds in your sound library. Each one can be previewed by selecting the little play icon to the right of each sound name. To use the sound simply drag it onto the highlighted part of the music station.
What is The Control Panel and how do I use it?
The Control Panel is a component placed on the left side of the screen on the music station, just above the left turntable. It features two different views, basic and advanced. Depending on the view chosen, different control levels are given to the user.
Initially you'll probably want to stick to the basic view. Advanced view can be used at anytime once you feel comfortable enough to use it.
How does basic view work in the Control Panel?
There are three modes to choose from: Live, Record and Play. Each mode has to be initiated and stopped using the start/stop button. The secondary options are Clear and toggle View (Basic and Advanced).
How does the Start/Stop button work?
The Start button is effectively a play button. Once clicked, the sound samples inside the Music Station will start playing, in the selected mode. For a sample to be “played”, the Loop Button has to be turned on.
After Play has been clicked, the option Stop will be displayed inside the same button. If Stop is clicked, the selected mode action will stop, meaning that no sound sample will be played; until Play is selected again.
What are the mode buttons and how do they work?
These buttons control the state or behaviour of all the Music Station's channels. There are three modes available: Live mode, Record mode and Play mode.
What is Live mode?
Live mode is pre-selected by default. It allows you to mix, rearrange and play around with the music station, without saving or recording anything.
To turn on the Live mode, both the Start and Live buttons need to be selected.
What is the Record mode?
Once this option is selected, all the mixing techniques such as looping, playing, “soloing”, increasing/decreasing the volume or cutting/stopping a sound sample will be recorded.
As soon as both the Record mode and Start buttons are selected, the red light right under the Metronome will turn on.
What is Play mode?
Selecting the Play mode option, allows you to play or preview any compositions that have been previously recorded.
Play mode will only work if a mix or song has previously been recorded.
What is the View button for?
The View button is what allows you to access the Advanced Control Panel, in case greater level of control over the Music Station is needed
What does the Clear button do?
Once selected, the Clear Button erases every sound sample dragged so far onto the music station. It gives users a shortcut to a one-click restart option.
What is the Advanced Control Panel?
This option is an extension of the Basic Control Panel and can be accessed by clicking the View button, which will display the full advanced panel besides the Basic View.
The Full Control panel contains 13 buttons, designed to allow individual control over the Music Station channels.
How do I save my mixes?
To record a song you must switch to Record mode. From here press the Start button and start composing. Recording will stop once the Stop button has been pressed. Your mix will be saved automatically.
Where can I find a new mix?
Once a mix has been recorded and saved, you'll see the My mixes option glowing. Your recorded mixes can be found inside the My mixes menu.
On top of this list inside My mixes option, the latest recorded mix will appear. It will a have default Mix Name and Avatar. Enter the mix name and edit the avatar by clicking on them; then click Save button to upload the mix to your Mix Box.
How do I edit a mix?
Firstly, enter the My mixes option and choose which one to load onto the Music Station for edition. Once you've decided which one to edit, choose the Load option at the bottom left of the My Mixes Option.
Once the mix has been loaded, the Advanced View will be displayed. Here, you can choose any mode. If you just want to listen to the mix select Play Mode and then Start. If you want to overwrite a specific channel, you'll need to activate the Record mode button first on the channel that needs to be edited.
Once Stop is selected, you'll be able to access the My Mixes to rename and save the new mix.
What are Vibe Coins?
Vibe Coins are one of the two virtual currencies in Fantasy DJ that need to be purchased, in order to buy any virtual good, i.e. Sound Samples.
How do I get Vibe Coins?
Vibe Coins can be obtained only through direct purchase. These can be purchased by going to the Store; then clicking on the buy options in the Vibe Kart. Vibe Coins can't be exchanged for Credits or vice versa.
What are Vibe Coins for?
Vibe Coins are required to purchase any virtual good or product available on Fantasy DJ. Unless specified otherwise, sound samples and premium content can be purchased using Vibe Coins.
What are Credits?
Credits are one of the two virtual currencies in Fantasy DJ that need to be purchased, in order to buy certain virtual goods available on Fantasy DJ.
How do I get Credits?
Credits can be obtained in three ways: Direct Purchase, through gameplay and third party offers.
How can I buy Credits?
Just like Vibe Coins, Credits can be bought in the Store; by selecting the buy button under the credits icon in the cart.
How can I get Credits through gameplay?
Credits can be obtained as a result of actively participating within the Fantasy DJ community. Things like Shouting a Mix, Rating a Mix, Rating other DJs or their Mixes or just simply logging in will earn you credits.
How can I get Credits through third party offers?
Apart from buying Credits, you'll also be able to get them through third party offers. Credits earned will vary depending on the type of offer that you decide to take part in.
It’s very important to check the third parties terms and conditions before completing an offer in exchange for credits.
What are Credits used for?
Sound samples, premium content and campaigns can be purchased using Credits. Credits can't be exchanged for Vibe Coins or vice versa. You need to purchase them separately.
Fantasy DJ’s Campaigns are virtual goods or products that you'll need to unlock, in order to upgrade and consolidate your DJ level. You'll receive a notification when campaigns become available.
How can I purchase a campaign?
Once the notification has been received, next time you go to The Store click on the unlocked campaign to purchase it. As a result of purchasing the unlocked campaign, you'll go to a new DJ level.
